SCAN Birth Tables


NOTICE: Popup blockers will prevent tables from appearing and need to be disabled.
Follow these steps to create a table from South Carolina Resident Birth data.

Step One

Select row variable (default: Year).

Step Two

Select column variable (default: Race).

Step Three

Select Year(s) of interest (default: 2022). At least 1 year has to be selected
 

Step Four
Specify Race, Ethnicity, Age and/or Marital Status below: (default: All Races, All Ethnicities, All Ages, All Marital Status, All Birthweights, All Gestational Ages)

Maternal Race Maternal Ethnicity Maternal Age

Marital Status Birth Weight Gestational Age

* PATACK: paternity acknowledgment

Step Five

Select Region (default: County).

Step Six

Select Region of interest.
Warning: To maximize visibility, no more than seven columns should be selected
To select multiple non-sequential regions hold down the Control (Ctrl) key and click on desired regions.

Sort alphabetically by region or numerically by statistic (default: Alphabetically)
Note: In order to sort, Region must be the row variable.

Step Seven

Select a Birth Characteristic (default: All Births).
Warning: To maximize visibility, no more than seven columns should be selected To select multiple non-sequential characteristics hold down the Control (Ctrl) key and click on desired characteristics.

Sort by Group Name or Alphabetically (default: By Group Name)

Step Eight

Choose Output Preference (default: Frequencies).
*In order to view rates, "Counties" or "DHEC Regions" must be specified in Step 5.

Step Nine

Choose Confidence Interval (default: No Confidence Intervals).
**In order to view confidence intervals, frequencies and rates must be selected in Step 8.

Step Ten

* Available for consecutive years, when Year is chosen as Column Variable.
