As of Thursday afternoon, all forecast regions are trending towards a code green finish. Friday is largely expected to carry conditions over from the latter half of Thursday. Partly cloudy skies and near seasonably average temperatures will persist. Winds are forecast to be at a light breeze from the West in the morning and shift to out of the Southwest by the afternoon. This wind direction will be important because it could place monitors "down wind" of metropolitan areas. When this setup happens, it is not surprising to see some of the highest concentrations in the state on a given day, be at these locations. The environmental moisture will be at a healthy level which will bode well for air quality. Mostly stable conditions will limit vertical dispersion of surface pollutants. The source of the air mass moving into the state will be clean, owing to all the rain and cloud cover the region has gotten lately. Overall, all forecast regions are projected to peak in code Green on Friday.
